In the first public hearing in the impeachment probe, Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, called on the whistleblower, whose complaint sparked an impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump, to testify. Jordan called the whistleblower “the reason we’re all sitting here today.” After Jordan’s comments, Rep. Peter Welch, D-Vt., responded: “I’d be glad to have the person who started it all come in and testify. President Trump is welcome to take a seat right there.”
