Michael Jackson’s ex-wife said she would have hanged the King of Pop from a tree if she’d discovered he was abusing children.
Elvis’ daughter Lisa Presley, now 51, was wed to the singer between 1994 and 1996 as he battled a sexual abuse allegation.
Their brief marriage attracted a huge amount of scrutiny – with some conspiracy theorists alleging it was nothing more than a publicity stunt.
In 2002 and 2003, BBC journalist Martin Bashir conducted a series of interviews with Jacko at Neverland Ranch for the documentary Living with Michael Jackson.
Bashir examined his relationship with the young boys he invited over for sleepovers, including then 13-year-old Gavin Arvizo.
It eventually prompted a criminal investigation that led to Jackson’s criminal trial in 2005.
Asked about the documentary, Lisa told a 2003 VH1 interview: “That was a train wreck, you know.
“If I had seen anything, believe me, his a** would have been hanging from a tree. I don’t know, I never saw anything like that.
“I don’t know what’s happening lately with him, I really don’t.
“I hope he clears it up and it’s not really my mess to clean up anymore. I walked away seven years ago for a reason.”
Jacko was indicted on a range of offences during the 2005 trial, including four counts of molesting a minor and four counts of intoxicating a minor to molest him.
The jury deliberated for seven days and he was eventually found not guilty.
Earlier this year, two other accusers detailed other damning allegations in Channel 4 documentary Leaving Neverland.
James Safechuck and Wade Robson claim they suffered at Jacko’s hands when they were 10 and seven respectively.
He allegedly bought jewellery in exchange for sexual acts, performed oral sex and conducted a child wedding in a sick bedroom ceremony.
MJ always denied allegations before he died in 2009 aged 50.
His family have also said in a statement: “Michael always turned the other cheek, and we have always turned the other cheek when people have gone after members of our family – that is the Jackson way.
“But we can’t just stand by while this public lynching goes on … Michael is not here to defend himself, otherwise these allegations would not have been made.”
